I’m always amazed by how complicated people try to make Internet Marketing. Why?
What is the point of being so mysterious with online business? Selling products and services online is nothing more than using the Internet to sell. Business online is, just that, business - online rather than offline in the real world.
Let’s take a closer look…
Online business owners operate their business from a website. Think of this as the store front of any “Main Street” store or shop. Rather than a counter and a cash register online store owners use their website and a shopping cart to complete transactions. Now I ask, is there anything at all complicated about that? Of Course Not.
At some point today I’ll bet you picked up a newspaper or magazine, turned on the TV or radio and read, watched or listened to advertising. That advertising called for you to buy, or at the very least, to go to a store.
Online advertising, while done differently, is still just advertising. Pay Per Click(PPC) ads are everywhere - those pesky little “Ads by Google” ads you see everywhere are PPC advertising. Those ads are purchased by online businesses for the express purpose of getting people to visit their website(store front).
Did you know that real ‘brick and mortar’ store owners call their customers “traffic” just like website owners call their visitors traffic? Imagine that, traffic is the customer online and offline. Huh, who’d of thought?
I know, I know, the sarcasm is beginning to get annoying. Just like Rush Limbaugh, I’m trying to point out the obvious by using the absurd. Business is business. And that is true whether in the real or virtual world.
So if you are struggling to have some success online take the time to step back and ask yourself…

Let me tell you a short story. I’ll start from where I am today with my business online and go backwards in time. Today I make my living entirely from the Internet. And it is a blast!
Has it always been like this? No, I struggled. I would make a few sales now and then but never really covered my costs. Certainly never paid for my time by any stretch of the imagination.
I’ll bet you would like for me to tell you what I learned that turned everything around, wouldn’t you? Believe it or not I have already told you the “Secret” to my success.
I finally quit playing around online and started to run a real business. Real products. Real advertising. Real repeat customers. No, I don’t sell information products, software or affiliate marketing to make my income. I sell tangible products to a specific niche.
My business is about 65% retail and 35% wholesale. The wholesale is actually business to business, my wholesale dealers sell retail in the same niche too. I love it!
And you can do the very same thing, that is, treat your efforts online as a real business. Stop chasing your dreams, get down to work and earn those dreams. It really is the only way to make them become reality.
